Growth in total revenues is dynamic despite challenging conditions

Bertrandt publishes report on 3rd quarter of 2022/2023

Ehningen, 07. August 2023 – Engineering services provider Bertrandt can look back on first nine months of dynamic growth in its fiscal year 2022/2023. Despite challenging conditions in the reporting period, the group benefited from increased demand for engineering services and successful project acquisition. Bertrandt continued to press ahead with its internationalisation. Total revenues increased 16 percent to some 860 million euros in the reporting period. The number of employees reached a record high of 13,949.

The first nine months of the fiscal year 2022/2023 have been impacted by challenging market conditions. The geopolitical situation, high inflation rates, a sharpe rise in interest rates and the threat of an energy crisis in Europe combined to adversely affect the economy. Nevertheless, Bertrandt benefited from project acquisitions and greater demand for engineering services in the reporting period. The group also continued to press ahead with its internationalisation. Markus Ruf, Member of the Management Board at Bertrandt AG: ‘The internationalisation of our company paves the way for further growth. In addition to the opening of a third location in Romania, a new site was opened in Morocco in the early summer of 2023, which focuses on software and electronics as well as product development. We will expand this site in Morocco and make it an important element of our transnational development network.’

Bertrandt generated total revenues of EUR 858.227 million (previous year EUR 739.652 million) in the first nine months of the 2022/2023 fiscal year. This is equivalent to a growth rate of 16 percent. The group’s EBIT improved in the reporting period and came to EUR 32.688 million (previous year EUR 28.850 million). Post-tax earnings were EUR 18.672 million (previous year EUR 12.035 million). The number of employees increased to a record of 13,949 as at 30 June 2023. Compared to 30 June 2022 (12,991), this represents an increase in headcount by 958.

In its reporting on the first half of fiscal year 2022/2023, Bertrandt essentially confirmed the outlook for the fiscal year as presented in the forecast in the 2021/2022 Annual Report. Amending this forecast in its report on the first half of fiscal year 2022/2023, Bertrandt revised its total revenues outlook upwards to between 100 and 150 million euros (previously 60 to 100 million euros).
