General introduction to ASD S1000D™

Basic seminar on the specification of technical documentation

In this training, participants are given an overview of the structure and content of ASD S1000D™, as well as information and examples of the structures described therein (e.g. steps, warnings, references, figures, xrefs, Applic). ASD S1000D™ version 4.2 is used as the basis.
Important differences and special features in versions 1.9 - 4.1 and 5 are discussed.

Training objectives: 

  • You know which parts of S1000D™ - a comprehensive ASD (formerly: AECMA) specification on the procurement, creation, distribution and maintenance of technical documentation - are important for technical authors who have to edit data modules in accordance with ASD S1000D™ for the first time.
  • You are able to categorize the terms of the specification and understand other standard documents, such as the National Style Guide (NSG), Project Guidance Document and Style Guide, in their own project.
