General introduction to ASD S4000P™ Issue 2.0

International specification for checking and optimizing the maintainability of a product

The speaker will present the current content of the international ASD specification S4000PTM Issue 2.0, which completely replaces and extends the previous specification ASD S4000PTM Issue 1.0. The changes and additions made are summarized.
The presentation is designed in such a way that questions from the group of participants can be answered.

  • Introduction to the topic of maintainability analyses and the purpose of preventive maintenance of technically complex products. Basic documents.
  • History, development and content of the international specification ASD S4000PTM Issue 2.0
  • Brief introduction to the derivation of "Preventive Maintenance Task Requirements" (PMTR) during development and changes/additions compared to Issue 1.0
    - "System Analysis"
    - "Structure Analysis"
    - "Zonal Analysis"
    - "Special Event Analysis"
  • Briefing on the ongoing review and optimization of PMTR in the product usage phase (in-service) and changes/additions compared to Issue 1.0
    - The "In-Service Maintenance Optimization" (ISMO) analysis process
    - Optimization of PMTR for "special events"
  • Interfaces of the analysis work and results

Training objectives: 

  • The target of the introduction is to create an understanding of the meaning and purpose of the analysis work with the associated analysis effort, which interfaces are relevant in the project and what the analysis work with the resulting results achieve in the life cycle of a product
