Introduction to Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)

Introduction to Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) according to MIL-STD-1388 and ASD S3000L

The basics of planning and implementing an LSA in accordance with MIL-STD-1388 and ASD S3000LTM are taught. These standards define the US and European processes in the context of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) - which individual analyses are required and in which data structures are these processes mapped.

The standards contain tasks and guidelines for:
1. the LSA management,
2. the operational and support environment,
3. the identification and assessment of possible incidents / technical failures,
4. the maintenance concept and corresponding resources,
5. the verification and validation of the LSA results.

Partial analyses within the scope of the LSA are explained.
Interfaces to other ILS elements (e.g.: S1000DTM, S2000MTM, etc.) are discussed.
